- To identify workplace control measure to reduce the risk of back injury
Management of Occupational Overuse Syndrome
- 2.5 hour workshop
- Assessed against NZQA Unit Standard 17591
You will learn:
- How to define the term Occupational Overuse Syndrome (OOS)
- Symptoms and causes
- Methods to prevent the development of OOS
- Methods to manage the risks to staff experiencing symptoms of OOS
Hearing Conservation at the Workplace
- 2.5 hour workshop
- Assessed against NZQA Unit Standard 17594
You will learn:
- About how hearing works and causes of hearing impairment
- How noise intensity is measures, the hearing comfort zone, and effects of noise on the hearing mechanism
- About the types of, and the benefits of using hearing protection equipment
- About workplace hearing protection programme requirements
Safe Storage and handling of Hazardous Substances in the Workplace
- 3.5 hour workshop
- Assessed against NZQA Unit Standard 20733
You will learn:
- Technical vocabulary and documentation for hazardous substances
- Properties and effects of hazardous substances
- Precautions relating to the storage and handling of hazardous substances in the workplace, and responsibilities relating to their safe storage and handling
